I'm in it for the free beer... by Artsy50 I'm in it for the free beer... by Artsy50
This is Bifur, cousin of Bofur and Bombur. From the upcoming Hobbit movie.

Not sure where they got the idea for the axe embedded in his skull, I don't remember it in the book. O.o! Looks painful.

Colored pencils on 98 lb. Canson paper. With a bit of white and black Sharpie paint pens.

Thanks for your faves and comments. They are appreciated! :D

...On to the next Dwarf! :D

It's mentioned in the Hobbit Chronicles (WETA art book) Frank Victoria (WETA Workshop designer) was working on a Bifur sketch... "William Kircher told us that when he grew his beard it came through really black and white. Obviously this was the way to go for Bifur so I just went crazy. Peter suggested that we make a plait of black and white strips of hair. I threw on Keith Richards' hair, from the Rolling Stones, and he said, 'Great! Now let's put an axe in his head!' "

Well, for us in the audience it's easy to remember!

Great job on the hair! That axe sure looks strange.. but okay suppose we'll have to live with that.

Thanks! :D I agree about the axe. Not sure where they came up with that. Wasn't in the book that I recall.

I love to draw and I seem to be in drawing mode lately. ;P I'll take it while I can...sometimes my muse deserts me.

Dat beard was a pain! ;P lol! And all that crazy hair!

Yay! I think he'd probably have a much worse headache at any rate. Glad it made you feel better. :D

Practice, practice...I seem to be learning some new techniques as I go. I amaze myself! ;P On to Bombur! He should be fun! :)
